Getting started on Cocoa development July 8th
Being a registered Apple developer for quite a while now for different reasons, I’ve always liked Apple’s developer tools which have this impressively different approach to successful GUI application development.
Recently I finally got myself started on the “Learning Cocoa with Objective-C” book that was sitting on my shelf for way too long. I had that constant itching for a while to get around to develop my own little apps for my beloved operating system of choice.
After reading through the first couple of chapters, things slowly dawn on me why Mac OS X received so much more attention from developers. It’s not only the tools they give you for free, it’s developing using a powerful and well established language with a ton and a half APIs available to tightly integrate whatever crosses your mind into all standard Mac OS X tools and applications. This is truely amazing and I hope I can devote enough time to learning more of these things as quickly as possible. Makes note to self.
What are your favourite programming languages? Do you have a strong background in Objective-C development in general or Mac OS X development in particular? I’d love to hear about that.
