Crashy Harddrive January 11th

When I woke up this morning the server hosting this site, its German counterpart, rsmodels.net, backupforum.net and a couple of liedra’s hosts had become stuck for an unknown reason.

I rang Hosteurope and their netops staff found out it’s been suffering from a classic harddrive crash. :(

However, nightly backups had been transferred off site and as such nothing was lost per se. It still took about 4 hours to transfer everything back and reinstate operating system and services.

Everything should be back up now and besides two lost comments to my previous blog entry nothing seems to be lost forever.
