DOM inspector on steriods

 Styles Images Xyleicon

A post on the Rails mailinglist yesterday revealed an amazing new tool for webdevelopers working with Mac OS X: Xyle scope by Cultured Code.

While it provides simple DOM inspection capabilities (in a beautiful layout kinda way) with an easy to grasp option to move up or down the cascade to find out which style element is causing which effects (or problems) like there are many others out there, Xyle scope supports inline editing of your CSS to immediately see the changes in action. No more flipping back and forth between editor and browser to see those two char changes go live.

Beware, the tool is beta and the website is German only (for now). However, the application itself has been localized for both German and English.
