Speaking at German Rails Konferenz October 12th

I’m part of the speaker line up for the first German language Rails conference taking place coming November 2nd and 3rd in Frankfurt, Germany.
While Rails performance expert Stefan Kaes will give a more in-depth, developer focused talk right after lunch, I will, surprise surprise, be talking about scaling real-world Rails applications. Using the example of eins.de, which I have previously covered in the Adventures of scaling series on this blog, my talk will give additional practical advice we gathered from the months that followed the original article series published in March of this year. This includes dealing with performance problems of internationalization and deployment alternatives to FastCGI. As such, the talk might be interesting to follow even if you’ve followed along with the articles.
Additionally, I volunteered as the conference photographer for the event. While I might not be able to shoot as professionally as the ever great James Duncan Davidson, I still hope to catch a few shots of speakers and crowd.
More information can be found on the official conference website at rails-konferenz.de.
See you in Frankfurt!
Update: The presentation (in German, obviously) is available here.
